I. NSS Philosophy :- History and Growth of NSS – Aims and Objectives – Basic concepts – Motto ( 3 hours)
Contribution by famous India leaders starting with Gandhiji (1 hour)
II. Community Development :
What is Community: (Some statistical report about the population – backwardness – Resources available with our country)
Need for community development: - The volunteers will be encouraged to know about the problems of village/ slums and will be oriented for the schemes which are sponsored by Government Agencies and volunteer organization in the field of community service.
Role of NSS volunteers in community Development
Group discussion – 1 hr
Presentation of Report of each group (maximum 10 minutes for each group)
III. Life Skill Education (6 hours)
Special focus on leadership and communication skill
IV. NSS Programmes and Activities (2 hours0
Regular – Special Camping
Village Adoption
Action Plan at school level – group discussion ( 2 hours)
Documentation of NSS activities
NSS Group leader may be divided and assigned with each task at each school
Group singing and cultural activities
Volunteers must be grouped and assigned with cultural activities in the evening session. Each and every volunteer must be given opportunities for performing any cultural activity at stage.
Finally the cultural activity session may end up with group signing ( eg: -
we shall over come etc or National song)
District Co-ordinators are requested to take necessary step to implement the module by engaging the trained Programme Officers
