New Instructions for Special Camp

The following further instructions are issued for the conduct of the Special Camping Programme from 2008-2009.

1. Combined camps will not be permitted
2. The camp venue should be other than the school (campus) preferably in the adopted village. Local Self Government may be associated with the camp
3. The camp should be residential as per the guidelines issued by Government of India. All the volunteers registered for the camp should halt in the camp venue through out day & night. If a volunteer leaves the camp during the middle, he/she should not be admitted again.
4. All the volunteers admitted for the camp should sign in the attendance register every day. The soft copy of list of volunteers present in the camp should be emailed to nssvhse@yahoo.co.in on the second day of the camp itself and the photocopy should be forwarded to the NSS Cell, Directorate of VHSE through courier service (on the second day), failing which the request for the NSS certificates from such institutions will not be entertained.
5. The pre-camp arrangement must be properly done. A meeting of the parents of all volunteers attending the camp should be convened and ensure their co-operation.
6. The officers of National Service Scheme may visit the camp at any time without prior notice. Relevant documents like attendance, programme schedule projects undertaken etc should be handed over to the office on demand.
7. Presence of Lady teachers should be issued for caring female volunteers during the camp.
8. Special emphasis must be given on the following project.
a) Environment Awareness programme (Cleanliness through Homes)
b) Greeding Kerala
c) Anti Drug Programme
One day each should be set apart for the implementation of the above projects while organizing the camps.

Govt. of India has enhanced the rates for Regular Activities and Special Camping to Rs.300/- and Rs.500/- respectively provided the NSS units may mobilize the additional fund internally. Therefore each NSS unit is permitted to mobilize the additional fund from Local Self Government, Agencies through PTA. Ward councilor. The Account relating to such self mobilized resource should be maintained separately and placed before the school Level NSS Advisory Committee for verification and approval.
